Before installing the Charismathics Virtual Smart Card, the TPM needs to be configured. Specifically the TPM needs to be enabled and initialized, and ownership must have been taken.
To see the status of the TPM, run tpm.msc. The TPM state should be as followed:
Status: "The TPM is on and ownership has been taken."

There is a policy setting controlling the access to TPM. The CVSC product is designed to run with the default policy. Should there be a need to limit the access to individual TPM commands it must be done with care not to block the product from the TPM chip. Below you find the group policy entries set to the recommended default values.
